“Lo-Fi Study Girl” Gets Edited into Numerous Versions from Various Countries in 30 Pictures

Lo-fi study girl is an animated character that Juan Pablo Machado developed. That’s what you’ll find at the ChilledCow YouTube channel. There, lo-fi live streams hip hop beats meant for relaxation while studying.

The account was mistakenly suspended in early 2020. ChilledCow came up with the lengthiest video ever to have been made on YouTube, extending to 13000 hours. It got 218 million views then. YouTube lifted the ban, and Dimitri, who owns the account, started it again, and the lo-fi girl continued with her studies.

In tribute, her fans recreated her character which became known in various places worldwide. YouTube acknowledged their mistake on their Twitter support account.

ChillCow experienced disruptions before in 2017, July, and October due to copyright issues. It had to do with a Ghibli’s Whisper of the Heart Studio GIF. When it was returned, Dimitri replaced the character with a copyright-free portrayal of an image that resembled the previous one.

Aris Panousis loved Studio Gibli’s original character. His edited version and others’ were inspired by u/Marccolo. He posted his edit in r/Europe, which started a thread. u/Marccolo also likes Juan Pablo Machado’s study girl and music. u/holdenmccawfield created the San Diego version of the California study girl. The Danish version was done by u/starswirls_planet. u/danielgmal created the Hogwarts edition version of the study girl.
