A Floating Pod for Accommodation or a Sailing Boat – Take Your Pick of the Same Vessel

The hospitality industry has needed a boost since the coronavirus pandemic. The Anthenea is an extravagant circular pod that provides an exclusive getaway on the water. You can rent it or buy it. You may use it as an apartment or a sailing vessel, or a hotel suite.

The costs per night can be $300 or more. A purchase could be $535,000. The architect behind it is Jean-Michel Ducancelle. The idea was borne from “The Spy Who Loved Me,” the James Bond movie of 1977.

The mound-shaped vessel is solar powered for all heating and lighting purposes. It is designed to filter and only release clean water. It comprises a lounge with a sofa that’s curved plus other movables, a kitchenette, a bathroom with a round bathtub, and an extra-large bedroom. It has glass all around, and at the bottom as well for an excellent view around and below.

There’s also an open observatory at the top. It is also a certified ship that can navigate slowly through waters that won’t get rougher than force 6 on the Beaufort scale.

You can always opt to snorkel, swim, or dive. It can accommodate up to 12 people. The various versions of it are the Anthenea Open, Business, Spa, and Suite. The Anthenea’s competition is the Palm Beach Villa.
