30 Kittens Preparing to Pounce from their Not So Hidden Hideout

Cats are adorable creatures. They are cute, calm, and collected. They are born hunters, and they instinctively do so the moment they get in touch with the environment around them.

Dr Marci L. Koski, a cat behavior expert, says that cats are experts at lying in wait. For ages, they were kept as animals that hunted. They had to fend for themselves. It is only in modern times when they became purely pet companions.

Another cat behavior expert, Natalie Cady Bishop, shares the fact that cats are made for engaging in physical activity and mental challenges. To help them along, cat owners should make sure that they give provision for surfaces for cats to satisfy their urge to scratch. They should also keep litter boxes close by.

Dr Koski emphasized on cats being allowed to exercise their hunting abilities. There are four steps during hunting. First, they will stare, then stalk and chase, then pounce and grab, finally, going for a killing bite. A wand toy could help them exercise all these hunters’ instincts. “Da Bird” is Dr Koski’s preferred toy.

One to two 10-15 minute play sessions will do per day. After playing, feed them. This method will formulate a routine that naturally falls in place with cats. It is the hunt-eat-groom-sleep routine.
