The Flowery Bug That Bedazzled Her

Nature is beautiful. You will think so too when you see the photos and the video of this beautiful bug. Margaret Neville was so taken in by it that they named her Miss Frilly Pants. The hullaballoo is about a spiny flower mantis (Pseudocreobotra Wahlbergi).

She spotted her hidden in her fower garden. She noted that she was probably pregnant. Up until now, the flower mantis has been living in that garden. The flower-like stance is to fool her prey.

A girl’s gotta eat. Right? Her favorite delicacy is the honey bee. And all this is happening on a farm in Nkutu Valley, KwaZulu Natal, South Africa.

Miss Frilly Pants loves those lavender flowers. She’s been a resident there for over a month. If you want to see her, take a browse to the “Waterfall Retreat & Environmental Centre” page.

Most of us are not enthusiastic about bugs. But this one may change your mind. The social media was abuzz about it. Most were appreciative of the wonder of God’s works in creating such a beautiful bug.

The spiral pattern on its back, plus the appearance that resembles a flower, will instantly draw you in.

Is it a mobile flower?
OMG! It’s a bug!
