Twitter Peeps Post Statues Better than those Torn Down by Protesters (29 photos)

If you are in the news loop, you will have heard about the statue of Edward Colston in Bristol that was taken down by the recent protests, because of Colston’s involvement with the slave trade in the past. This act has caused societies around the globe to check other statues that may be subject to this as well.

Some others were not spared such as Portsmouth Confederate, Jefferson Davis, Christopher Columbus, and demands were also raised up to tear down the one in the United Kingdom of Cecil Rhodes.

While all of these are going on, let us remember that statues are built to honor people immortalized through this medium even though some were of questionable reputation. Many others are meant to give tribute to political leaders, even social activists who have actually been loved by everybody and have impacted the world in so many excellent ways.

The Twitter platform has started to post pictures of these statues of people who were advocates of various social issues such as homophobia, sexism, structural racism, justice, equality, and peace.

Check out the pictures below and upvote your favorite ones. You are free to post comments as you wish! We is hoping to open the eyes of people about other statues that are truly and undoubtedly honorable.
